Roughly, How Many Games Do You Attend Per Season ?

Recommended Posts

I go to every home match, including both cup competitions, having had a season ticket for at least the last 25 years,

I only make around 50% of away games due to work or money, but I always make any away cup matches

I haven't missed a derby, including the boycott one, since the late 70's

What's others attendance record,

I was 15-20 games as a young kid in the 80s, 25-35 in the 90s when I lived in Tayside, 5-15 in the 00s when I lived in England and 10-15 now I'm up north.

I've got massive respect to those who've followed the Dee week in week out over the years. We wouldn't have a club without you. I do what I can. Maybe I should move back to the city to offer the club more support. It's something that's on my mind. I do miss being able to wake up late on a Saturday morning to walk up the Hulltoon to see a game. Unfortunately, family, work and football don't always go great together.

Every game home, away, friendly, cup etc.

Have managed every game in 3 of the last 4 seasons. The "club 12" season was particularly hard going

Last game of any kind I missed was Hamilton at Dens when Boyle scored.

Exactly - I had a few seasons when the kids were baby/toddlers/, etc when I could not justify going to Dens or away games from Edinburgh as it was almost a whole day out after being at work all week...now the wife encourages me to go to football!

Approx - most homes (season ticket) and 6/8 aways - canny be bothered with Inverness or Dingwall, avoid Celtic and others missed will be due to family events.

Pretty much every home game 1990 - 2004. Probably about 25% of away games during that period as well.

2004 - 2012 (coinciding with our darkest days) I wasn't in Dundee and was always travelling due to work commitments which included prolonged spells away from home. I moved back to Dundee in 2010. I would say less than half of all home games and very few away days during that 7 or 8 years.

2013 / 2014 - New job meant I was home a lot more. Almost all home games and maybe a third of away games.

2014/2015 - Every home game and about 75% of away games.

2015 / 2016 - Only game I've missed has been Aberdeen away due to my sons birthday party. Little b****r :)

My old man started taking me to Dens for just random games each season from around 1987 to 1994. I started going regular with mates from 1994 onwards. I'm a season ticket holder for a few seasons in a row now. Had a season ticket on and off since 1995 but most seasons since then I've had one. Paid at the gate for the overwhelming majority of home games during the seasons I didn't have a season ticket.

Go to every home match except friendlies.

Missed 2 Dundee Derbies home and away in over 20 years including friendlies and boycotts. One of the two I was out the country. The other I was working and not allowed to swap the shift (i considered quitting).

Started going to the odd away game from 1995 onwards also. Barely missed an away game between 1998 and 2003ish. Picked and choosed away games between 2004 and 2014 going to roughly 4 to 8 a season during these years. Can only make all the home games now apart from away derbies, Perth and other one offs.

Over the past thirty five years I believe I would have attended around 90% of all games including friendlies in Uk.

As many who attend home and away games week in week out it is a great hobby, one sorely missed with the likes of

Last week's internationals.

Been to every home game over the past 3 seasons, season ticket and cup games the only home game I've missed over the past 6 to 7 years was when we won 1-0 against Livingston last game of the 2011/2012 season when Jamie Reid scored a cracker. Generally don't miss any home games at all, would feel dirty not going to see the dee at home on a Saturday!

Away is a different story, make as much as I can, would go every single time if I had someone to go with every second week.. Went nearly every away game during the deefiant season, away games were great back when the support were together and formed a will not lose attitude.. Never been the same away from home since IMO excluding the Derbys and the game we game back up against killie in the disastrous club 12 season.

Last derby of any kind I missed was the season we got relegated in 2005 and it was a midweek game, 2-2 if I mind right, Tam McManus scoring in that ane for us, might have got 2 actually. That's the only derby I've ever missed since properly following the dee for the first time week in week out in 2001.. Before that my old man just picked and choosed which games he'd take me too like big games or the odd game against killie or Dunfermline or something.

Great memories following the mighty dee eh tell ya DDYB 💙

I've got a season ticket and will only miss a home game if I have absolutely no choice, e.g. need to be away with work etc.

I also try to get to as many away games as possible. I managed a full set in the promotion season, which was brutal in the early months under Brown but ultimately worth it to see the 3-0 win at Alloa. I've also come to the conclusion that me attending every game in a season was what was required for us to gain promotion - you're all welcome ;)

On average, in league and cup, I probably make 30-35 games a season.

As many games as I can but it's not easy with work, family life etc ;)

Never missed a game for 8 years on the trot and have been a season ticket holder on and off for over 30 years

Last game I missed (including open to the public friendlies) was Stennie in the Challenge Cup in the promotion season - was photographing my mate's wedding - don't ask me to photograph your wedding, I'll say no.

Previous to that I missed three games while on holiday in the States in 2009 (including the 3-2 extra time win over Aberdeen in the League Cup) - before that it was Ross County away in 2006 (midweek after the Gretna semi defeat) - that's the only game I've not gone to through choice since moving back the Dundee in summer of 2005.

Topic made me think of last time I was in the crowd at a Dundee game rather than out on the track with a camera though - that was January 2006 when we were in the Derry for the Bairn's 18th birthday - a 0-0 draw with Ross County.

Been to 95% of games home away friendlies over the past 5/6 years. Even went to sheffield on the friday night. Remembering missing stenny at dens too, had just touched down in skopje for the Macedonia Scotland match when my mate phoned and said we'd went out on pens
