Looking forward to seeing your 'GTF Cammy you donkey, you're the real problem here' banner on Sunday bud.

That woud be too long for a banner, i'd just get a picture of a donkey which could be attributed to half of our squad that McPake assembled.

In our squad we have Kerr, Elliot, Lawlor, Fontaine, McDaid, Marshall, McGowan, Anderson (first year in prem), McCowan ( first year in prem), McGhee (never played CM in prem), Sheridan, Mullen who wouldn't get anywhere near a team pushing for top six.

Anderson has had a decent season and looked class in some games but still lacks physicality in games against the better teams and shouldn't be having to be relied on as a weekly starter.

Can anyone actually look at them players and say we deserve to stay up. How many managers would come into a season thinking these players are fine? That's without mentioning our best striker who started the season scoring being instantly dropped for an unfit Griffiths before being sent to Australia to bang the goals in.

McPake's management of this squad if the reason we'll be going down. Possibly the worst manager of my lifetime giving he had 3 years in charge.

I agree, we should all keep our thoughts to ourselves and accept our lot, after all we're only fans so it's not like the club gives a monkey's left nut what we, or The Daily Record for that matter, say.

Nothing that anyone on this forum says, and which is ultimately transcribed in a rag, will make any difference in the grand scheme of things. So I say carry on pointing out the flaws and maybe, just maybe, someone might listen.

I'm not one to sit on my hands and I believe in criticism and praise where they're due. The management of Dundee FC deserves a lot of criticism at this point in time and very little praise.

And maybe we won't have a club. But you'll have been proven right and be a legend in your own mind. So hey! Congrats.

But seriously, or at least less sarcastically, I know what you are saying and I don't disagree. But if this forum can contribute even very slightly to the survival of the club, then I for one think we should do all we can, even if it means we stifle free speech for a wee while.

You are a senior poster on here. We all get something from your contributions (apoplexy for me, usually) and no one wants you to walk away. The debates that you engage in are what this forum is all about. But even you willl agree that you are relentlessly negative and highly committed to your own opinions (like many of us). Some of your posts, if taken out of context (ie part of an ongoing series of discussions of complex issues which are massivley simplified to fit within the confines of a fast moving and popular forum and made with an understanding that the majority of readers are familiar with your general views, proclivity for hyperbole, and underlying feelings for the club) could easily be misconstrued and generalised to draw conclusions that are detrimental to the club's wellbeing.

I get the sarcasm but I definitely don't want the club to disappear. I don't always get what I want; the wife is testament to that.

I don't think I'm relentlessly negative, very concerned about things at Dundee FC though and maybe the fact that it's all negativity, and has been for many years, is making me seem that way?

I have no connection to the club other than being a fan for over 50 years (no wonder I feel older than I am) so anybody taking my comments as directly relevant to the club is just a bit strange in my view.

So are you saying we should just continue to tolerate this sh**e and keep it shut in case the Americans walk away.

I'm sorry but I don't think anyone should have to accept the sh**e we have had to put up with over the last few years. Things need to change and they need to be a start listening.

In the world's of Neil Young it's better to burn out than fade away.

John Nelms needs to keep searching for a Heart Of Gold - cos I'm becoming an Old Man waiting for improvements.

Hey Hey, My My if I could get Harvest Moon into this post I would, but I can't so I'll Mellow My Mind and accept that I'm Helpless in this situation.

How about we just make some relatively minor adjustments in our posts to a public forum that is being used by some who may not have the best interests of Dundee at heart.

You would be free to say whatever you like in private or in other public spaces.

If you took from what I said that you or anyone else has to "... accept the sh**e we have had to put up with over the last few years." then perhaps I didn't phrase it well enough. I'm sorry.

I'm only asking for a degree of caution on this forum which has been elevated, because of the work done by those that run it, to the status of respectable source for journalists and commentators as representative of the views of the Dundee fan base. Please note, I'm not saying that it isn't representative, I'm saying if it is, and in order to avoid inadvertantly providing ammunition to those that might willingly or unwillingly add a nail to the club's coffin, we should at least try to manage what is said.

A banner in the derry telling Nelms to GTF would be better as he would be facing it. if he is in attendance. Is this something the section 18 lads could sort ?

Don't agree with the banner although I wholeheartedly agree with the sentiment.

Nelms in his position on the board is simply wrong, wrong, wrong. He has done ZERO to justify his position or his supposed recently publicised salary. For starters, he is too often absent when it matters. Most importantly, he has ZERO communications ability. Like McPake, he would have been relieved of his position ANYWHERE ELSE LONG, long before now. He must have the communications skills of P & O. What have the Yanks ever done for us?

However;

There is a risk of crossing a red line if we display the banner as suggested. Do those behind this have any 'official' backing to do this or is it just an ill-thought out plan with little or no thought of the possible consequences. I think we need to hold back, particularly as FPS have recently confirmed the Nou Campy project is still active.

It’s been created by an individual who has ranted about the club all season but not joined any supporters group to actually try and change anything

There has to come a point soon where the SLO, DSA AND D4L say something collectively.

If people are going to talk of folk joining supporters groups to try and change things then they (the supporters group reps) surely  need to demonstrate that they are trying to.

Whilst I don't necessarily agree with the CK post the poster involved is entitled to his opinion although I do think in this instance that the comments we're maybe just a bit too much.

I'm much more concerned about the suggestion that the moderation team should "stifle free speech". Temporary or not and regardless of what the Daily Record might make of people's comments I'm personally dead against this. A fancy post that looks like it's been written by Suzie Dent aff Countdown doesn't make it's content any more valid than anyone else's. Sometimes you need to see the dark to be able to see the light and I see no harm in letting people know, Nelms in particular, that the Dee support see the dark but they now want to see some light!.
