Agree. Why ask for our American owners to leave? Is there an alternative plan of action that has any chance of success if they do decide to leave?

What happens if they cut and run. I think  Admin 3 will be very different from anything that has gone before.

I am just trying to make the case for caution.

Their (Nelms) main mistake has been managerial appointments.

All other things are stemming from us being garbage on the pitch. They have backed their managers really well, nobody can say otherwise. Unfortunately after McCann, McIntyre and McPake we are at a really low point which would be expected by the calibre of managers they've appointed.

I can actually see some logic behind McGhee but the squad is championship level and we deserve to go down. Just don't see how people can be happy to celebrate testimonials of donkeys like Kerr who was part of our last relegation squad as well and go straight for those at the top.

Keyes and Nelms can help themselves by appointing a manager who would actually see alot of these players for what they are.

There's obviously issues with things such as pricing under the current owners but you've got to look at some of these players and just wonder how well backed 'managers' have managed to fill the squad with so much rubbish.

Looking forward to seeing your 'GTF Cammy you donkey, you're the real problem here' banner on Sunday bud.

While not disagreeing with the sentiment of your post JDee, I think the descriptive of a player who has given 10 years to the club is particularly uncalled for, and certainly not helpful at a time that the players are going to need all the help they can get.

Is he wrong though? That's the problem with our club players who are not good enough with some being here far too long and imo Kerr is one of those.

I think we all need to stop the angries taking the lead here. That will be catastrophic. I even want to suggest that, now we know this forum is a key part of journalists' research, they stop posting their criticisms in the manner we have seen in recent years. This is a horrible thing to suggest and would kill the forum if it was permanent. But I suggest a moritorium on posts

  • expressing complaints using intemperate language,
  • making accusations against individuals without evidence,
  • making assertions as fact which are actually opinions, or
  • Generalising complaints into an everything's sh**e narrative

@JDee's post above is entirely valid and not even extreme for this forum. In fact it is the lifeblood of forums like this. However, it  could also easily be used by journalists or other commentators to justify articles like the one in the Daily Record.

We hear justifications from some posters that they are only telliing it like it is, as if it has some greater credibility over other simple opinions. It is only true that it is an opinion whichever way it is justified. We can't demand that people always find the right words and grammar to be clear about what they mean and we are all guilty posting emotionally. But maybe our moderators might introduce some temporary rules so that we don't inadvertantly destroy the club.

Again, I'm not criticsing @JDeeor any other poster. We need the range of views and opinions to give us something to keep coming back for.

However, It feels like we are coming close to a really critical junction with the club. Administration and liquidation is not impossible to see on the horizon, and there is next to no good or encouraging news  to ease the pain.

For the forum, it is testament to John and the team that it is seen as a good source of information by journalists and we have had some fantsastic discussions which have gone some way to actually influencing the process and content of negotiation with the Club. That is really powerful for a forum, I think, but with that kind of power comes a degree of responsibility (I did watch Spiderman last night, sorry for the hyperbole).

Recognition of the irony given that I have broken all of the rules I am now suggesting we apply.

I agree, we should all keep our thoughts to ourselves and accept our lot, after all we're only fans so it's not like the club gives a monkey's left nut what we, or The Daily Record for that matter, say.

Nothing that anyone on this forum says, and which is ultimately transcribed in a rag, will make any difference in the grand scheme of things. So I say carry on pointing out the flaws and maybe, just maybe, someone might listen.

I'm not one to sit on my hands and I believe in criticism and praise where they're due. The management of Dundee FC deserves a lot of criticism at this point in time and very little praise.
