McCann's lazy and incompetent recruitment now coming home to roost sadly. May be completely wrong but I highly doubt he saw many of his signings play before signing them for us. I highly doubt he watched many National League, Bulgarian 2nd Division and Norweigan 1st Division matches over the past few seasons before signing Ralph, Madianga, Mendy etc. Constantly putting trust in agencies is a dangerous game. For every Kamara there is hundreds of no hopers on the scrapheap and generally they are there for a reason - they are crap.

I'm not writing off any individual player here but if you are building a team of players who have been relegated to the National League South, went AWOL from Bulgarian 2nd Division teams, barely kicked a ball for Peterborough in 3 years etc etc then you are going to end up with more Sofien Moussa's than Glen Kamara. It's never going to end well.

There were plenty decent players out there this summer that were accustomed to the Scottish game. Shankland only signed a new deal recently, Watt by all accounts ran us ragged today and was available - there's just 2 examples who have ended up schooling us in the past 2 games. Yet here we are taking punts on a young kid from Finland and Nabi who has 4 professional career goals.

An utterly baffling and IMO a frankly lazy recruitment process which is going to cost us dear unless we do something dramatic this week.

Pretty damning assessment there and one I'm loathe to agree with. It doesn't sit right with me but I think you may be right. It doesn't add up that NM has seen the guys he's brought in. In his defence it's possibly due to the budget he's working with. That's the best I can come up with unfortunately.🙁

The line up looked fine today but just didn't perform. The team aren't playing for NM.

I think you may have drawn the wrong conclusion. The team did play for NM in that they followed, to the letter, his instructions. Agree the lineup looked fine, but I don't think it was the best use of the players.

Got to agree Rosco, that the concensus on here was NM played his strongest/best team of player ... So it begs the question, what went wrong?

Prime example of an experienced manager against a rookie. Wright won. I'd say we were the better team marginally 1st half. Second half Wright snuffed any danger we had. He told his defenders to play the ball over our full backs and it totally changed the game. 2nd half never in it.

Reality is Mcann will take us close to relegation if he is allowed to keep his job, so so easy to play against its unreal, yes we had a decent 25-30 minutes in first half but we hardly cut through them, one clear cut chance in first half, 2nd half was appalling, why are we so high up pitch for there goal, zero cover, and a half fit tony watt strolls half length of pitch for a sunday boys goal....way to narrow, and could be playing now and still no goal....few boys clearly not fit enough, mendy, ralph and nabi being main culprits for me...must be absolutely murder being a striker in this team when all the midfielders want about 40 touches before they pass it...

they wont sack him, cause for me the board are pretty clueless, get a proven manager in who will get team fitter, and have them at least organised...theres plenty of them out there.

......:and when McCann is chased out of Dens by keyboard warriors and men with pitchforks who have done nothing but grumble for years about having a manager who has tried to play nice football they will get an ‘old school’ manager like Jocky Scott or John Brown that wins ugly and puts points on the board most Saturdays only only for him to get chased out of Dens too because they don’t like ‘anti-football’ and want to be entertained by a young exciting manager who will entertain on a Saturday......and the circle will begin again.....!!!!!

For too many years the majority of Dundee fans have done nothing to encourage their side.  The players look nervous, they certainly aren’t carried or elevated in their performances by the fans (most are absolutely destroyed online or at the games and some like Holt are begrudgingly accepted as not being that bad when a better player doesn’t replace them on a free transfer) and at the end of the day the Dundee players are giving the majority of ‘fans’ exactly what they want most Saturdays.  They go to abuse their side or sit battering their keyboards often about games they haven’t watched and the players in return are giving them the defeats they crave the most.  People question why we can’t attract forwards etc.  If I was a player and sat through a game or looked at the savage treatment of Mussa, Holt, Walters, Kerr etc from the stands or on social media I wouldn’t ruin my career and reputation by coming within a 100 mile radius of Dens.

I agree that certain individuals take the abuse of players / managers too far, but they will find reason to shout / moan regardless of performances. This helps no-one.

But our support at St Mirren and at home against Aberdeen was outstanding. No way could the players not agree with that.

Given what we have endured over the last 40 odd years it is little wonder we fear the worst and look for change after every poor run.

The reality is that NM has had sufficient time and resources to build a competitive team, he has failed and we are in deep trouble.

Time for a change or we will be struggling in the Championship again.

All we’re asking for is some decent performances and to make going to the games worthwhile.

We all want Dundee to succeed but when things are not going right then concerns are raised. If McCann was doing a brilliant job we would be loving life. Sadly this is not the case.

As for us trying to play nice football, I’m sorry but this is rubbish. We’re currently playing some of the most boring football I’ve seen at the club. Far too slow in the build up and have nothing to show for it. Football is about winning and we’re certainly not doing that.

Playing our strongest team will only work if McCann lets them play to their strengths....which I don't think he's doing

Agree. I'm hopeful that he has learnt a lesson and will go back to 352 for our next game.

There may well be the makings of a decent squad there charlie' ...

But I just don't see NM ever walking away. Partly pride. But also, what appears to be, the misguided belief, that given time he will get it right.

I agree Gedee, if he had a honest look at himself, he would have to admit that he's been a miserable failure, but listening to him, it's Always everyone else's fault, apart from himself. Being a very aggressive wee man, who hasn't a clue, being a football Manager, time won't get it right, as we've been watching, his sh*t football tactics, for 13 months now , the Supporters aren't turning up, to watch this p**h, any more, so come on BOD, do the proper and decent thing, and get rid of Neil McCann, as he won't walk.
